Aurea Project, a collaboration with Maison Numero 20

Salone del Mobile : A Global Design Stage
Every year, Milan becomes the epicenter of a creative buzz where the contours of contemporary design are redefined. The Salone del Mobile is much more than just a trade show: it is an open-air laboratory, a space for experimentation where ideas take shape through installations, scenography, and immersive experiences.
During this week, the entire city is transformed. Galleries, palaces, courtyards, and industrial spaces all become venues for expression. Design breaks free from its traditional confines to engage with architecture, interact with history, and explore new narratives.
It is within this context that unique projects emerge, straddling the line between interior architecture, scenography, and artistic creation. Spaces conceived not merely to be viewed, but to be traversed, to be experienced.
Aurea Project is fully aligned with this dynamic. At the intersection of interior architecture, scenography, and craftsmanship, the project offers a sensory interpretation of space. A response to this new way of experiencing design: more immersive, more narrative, more emotional.
Aurea Project : An Architectural Fiction

With Aurea, conceived by Oscar Lucien Ono for Maison Numéro 20, the space becomes a narrative.
Envisioned as an imaginary hotel where every visitor becomes a traveler, the project invites visitors to wander. Each area functions as a room, a threshold, a passageway. You don’t enter a booth, but a story.
The spaces unfold like scenes, materials interact with one another, and light shapes perceptions. Together, they create a sensory and immersive experience, almost cinematic, where artisanal craftsmanship meets a contemporary vision of luxury one that is more sensitive, more intimate.
The project is also built on a collective dynamic. Maison Numéro 20 brings together several French houses for the occasion, each contributing its expertise and interpretation of the materials. This diversity creates an unexpected coherence: a collaborative work, yet guided by a clear artistic vision.
Ateliers Berger x Maison Numero 20 : Matter in Motion
At the heart of this narrative, the collaboration between Ateliers Berger and Maison Numéro 20 feels like a natural fit.
For Aurea, Ateliers Berger has designed a screen conceived as a living surface. Its subtle texture, crafted with a white gold finish, gently captures the light and diffuses it rather than reflecting it. This almost velvety material reveals subtle nuances as the eye moves across it, creating a silent vibration in the space.

For this piece, Ateliers Berger created the Reed design, a custom decorative texture from the Horizon collection. This handcrafted design is distinguished by a subtle interplay of lines and movement, creating a visual rhythm that is both soothing and elegant. Its organic pattern interacts with light to reveal unique depth effects, enhancing the screen’s appearance depending on the angle and time of day.

Designed with flexibility in mind, it extends the concept of movement and nomadism: a piece capable of adapting, interacting with the surrounding spaces, and fitting naturally into an evolving architectural context.
This convergence of artisanal craftsmanship and architectural design gives rise to a subtle dialogue: one between the hand and space, between material and imagination.
This collaboration with Maison numéro 20 illustrates a shared approach: designing spaces as immersive experiences.
