Ateliers Berger, with its team, contributes to the influence of French craftsmanship, through an innovative approach, guided by a requirement for quality and modernity in the selection of materials, techniques and management methods for its clients' projects.
We use earth, sand, lime and other aggregates to create skilful mixtures. Textile strips and smoother papers are superimposed, pigments and shades are measured: each project has its own carefully catalogued compound. In order to make exceptional decorative pieces, to give them singularity and character, the first step is to elaborate their elementary substance. Then comes the gesture, the skills for the execution of the artwork itself.
The decors of Ateliers Berger are all unique; they are able to come alive because each person has put a fragment of their own life into them.
A « lived-in » ateliers
Ateliers Berger is located in Grenoble, France, in the heart of the Alps, a region that offers purity in lines, unique lights, and creative inspiration.
Ateliers also provides the artist Martin Berger with the facilities for a multiple, shared, and innovative expression. Its students and other artists enjoy reproducing the gesture, contributing and creating beyond the initial work, using savoir-faire and techniques from the French artisan tradition.
It is also through these collaborations and thanks to the personalities involved that the soul and memory of the Ateliers are maintained.
Innovation and environmental awareness
Ateliers Berger is not content with creating exceptional décors but constantly seeks innovations in the processes to become more sustainable. We are guided by a requirement for quality and modernity in the selection of materials, techniques and management methods for the projects of our clients: architects, interior designers, and luxury retailers worldwide.
Ateliers has developed unique expertise on new materials, the "signature décor©" or "architectural marquetry©" allowing the dissociation of the creation from the installation, and the possibility to install their signed decorations anywhere in the world with a minimum carbon footprint.
The decors are made with water-soluble pigments and products, and a rigorous waste management system has been put in place, particularly with regard to water treatment. To date, Ateliers Berger is the only artistic workshop in France to have specially adapted equipment to reduce its environmental impact by more than 50%.
Finally, Ateliers Berger has digitised non-creative processes to facilitate exchanges with their clients and their teams and to limit travel.
The objective of its creations is to make your places unique, new showcases for your shared emotions, inspiring luxury and uniqueness.
