Our “nature” selection for Paris Design Week

Our “nature” selection for Paris Design Week

As Paris Design Week draws to a close, Atelier Berger aims to highlight the places and designers that caught its eye. The common feature of each of these projects is their link with the environment. This is a common thread in the creative work of the studio and can be found in all of our decorative panels.

The Polcha x Pinton up-cycling collaboration left a particularly strong impression on our teams. The Polcha Design Collection Evolution 0005 carpet is a unique and original creation made from recycled carpet and tapestry pieces from the archives of the Pinton factory. The latter recently began to recover and recycle unused textile fibres such as scraps or samples, in line with the Polcha studio's own approach to reusing materials. This work is inspiring for Atelier Berger, which is also constantly looking for creative solutions to reuse material scraps.

Our team will also remember the experience of a cool break in the FreshCity planted pergola, designed by the Tricoire Design studio. The objective was to improve city life by creating areas for refreshing seating and shaded pedestrian traffic.

Finally, the Campus des Métiers d'Art et du Design (Design and Artistic Trades Campus) presented an exhibition entitled Design for a Wild World to the Académie du Climat (Climate Academy) this year. One project in particular caught the attention of the teams, that of Laury Guillien, who has developed materials made from wood ash.

The resulting material provides a very interesting grain, both to the touch and visually. We are seduced by the inventiveness, skill, and attitude of young artists who play with the rules to better rewrite them. Whether dealing with materials, textures, or colours, they question norms and systems of production and transmit the same committed and responsible vision of the world as Atelier Berger.
